SAFSC Activist School on Worker Cooperatives and Food Sovereignty

The purpose of the school was to help activists learn about and understand the worker cooperative model. The objectives of the school:

  • Build Capacity of SAFSC alliance partners on worker cooperatives
  • Resource alliance partners with worker cooperative guide and training tools
  • Help build momentum for activist activities around SAFSC forum planning, community declarations, institutionalise worker cooperative development linked to food sovereignty and learning exchanges

Around 40 activists attended the school. All the activists found the school useful and found that the worker cooperative model or enterprise is a powerful cooperative to bring about change and transformation in their communities.
