At Food Flow we believe in supporting food livelihoods: that means feeding people in a crisis isn’t just about getting food into communities, it is also about considering where that food comes from and who is benefiting from the supply chain.

Food Flow uses donor funding in the form of sponsored Harvest Bags to purchase from small scale farmers, fishers and food producers and connects them with a local community distribution organisation where the harvest bags are distributed or the food is prepared into meals.

Our model financially supports the farmers “upstream” to sustain their businesses, pay their staff and support their own families, while also quickly getting food to those families “downstream” who are experiencing increased food insecurity.
